Quarrymen's Arts Centre
The Centre is an impressive, granite-built former church, sitting proudly above Creetown village, with stunning views across the Cree estuary and Solway coastline.
About the Building
A community owned building with a rich and historic past, it recently underwent a full refurbishment to transform it from a run-down hall into a vibrant, contemporary performing arts venue, with tasteful echoes of its rich quarrying and musical heritage.
Quarrymen’s benefits from a state of the art, 80-seat raked seating system in the main auditorium, which can also be retracted to provide a larger floor space, plus a meeting/green room, kitchenette, accessible toilets, external lawn area and car parking.
Venue hire is also available for conferences, meetings, classes, book launches etc.
Quarrymen’s Arts Centre is situated in a thriving rural community, yet is well-connected by road; only 2 miles off the main road connecting the north of England with west Scotland and the ferries to Northern Ireland.
Our Vision
The Creetown Building Preservation Trusts' board of volunteers had a vision to transform this wonderful historic Church in the heart of Creetown village into a thriving venue; the Quarrymen's Arts Centre.
It continues as home to the Creetown Silver Band and also serves as a new contemporary space for the local community and an exciting performing arts venue.
